We had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful to us when we had questions; we really felt taken-care-of. As a bonus, they made the process of shipping our luggage to the next hotel totally seamless (They used Yamato transport). The whole hotel is beautiful and serene, and the room-- from the lighting to the bed and even the tub-- was so relaxing after a day of traveling. If we ever visit Kyoto again, we know exactly where we'll be staying.

Excellent hotel overall. They provide a useful map of the local area showing restaurants and shops. Very good location for the palace grounds and directly above a metro station (Exit 4), although there are quite a few stairs to negotiate via that route. Rooms at the back of the hotel were certainly quiet enough. Handy location with a FamilyMart store right next door and buses close by. Excellent, foreigner-friendly, sushi restaurant (Shigetomi) just two minutes walk.

The style and feel of the hotel was beautiful. The rooms were a very generous size and peaceful - they even had space for luggage. The hotel was quiet and clean. The location is right next to a subway stop so very convenient and the area was lovely and quiet - and right near the Imperial Palace and park. We didn't use the restaurant but reception were always helpful. Our room was ready early and we were able to store luggage when we checked out without a fuss.

Excellent location! Next to 24hrs Family Mart and Sukiya, (an affordable cafe that serves 3 meals), walking distance to imperial palace and Kyoto garden. Near Nishiki market. Elegant room with spacious and bright corridor. Room was elegant, spacious and a lovely touch of traditional kyoto. Really like all the bathroom amenities and coffee/tea with snacks! This will be my hotel as from now!

Really impressed with the size of our room, which was very spacious, especially for a hotel in Japan. Extremely comfortable beds, enjoyed the lounge area, desk area and lots of room for our luggage. The location was excellent, with a subway station next to the entry, a konbini on the other side, and lots of access to buses nearby.
